The vast expanse of sandy beach at Pendine Sands played a huge part in early attempts to set a land speed record thanks to being smoother and flatter than many of the roads at the time!

The park is an ideal base for exploring Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, the walled town of Tenby and the village of Laugharne, home of the famous Welsh poet Dylan Thomas.

A stunning location where Malcolm Campbell set the first land speed record of 146.16 miles per hour in 1924, before raising it to 174.22 mph in 1927 – the village houses the Museum of Speed which pays homage to these early record breakers.
