Torquay itself is situated inside Torbay – a beautiful sheltered are of the south coast which comprises Torquay, Paignton and Brixham and an ideal location for making the most of the English Riviera and all it has to offer.

Torquay itself has been one of the country’s most popular family holiday locations for generations – notably since Victorian times – the Victorian architecture and elegance resonating through the area. This said, Torquay is by no means stuck in the past and offers year round attractions including arts, cultural and marine attractions, together with a wide variety of cafes, restaurants, pubs and bustling nightlife. Paignton is a timeless Victorian-era resort with stunning beaches. Wander along its attractive sea front, stroll along the pier or visit some of the 300 species of animals at Paignton Zoo! The Paignton & Dartmouth Steam Railway offers a chance to enter a bygone era – cruising along 7 miles of the spectacular Torbay coastline in timeless elegance.

Brixham is a quaint and charming town and also a busy fishing port – in fact Brixham is the birthplace of the fishing trawler! One of the most popular atractions in Brixham is a replica of Sir Francis Drake’s ship – the Golden Hind. Sit and watch the trawlers entering and leaving the harbour or retire to a cafe or restaurant and sample some of the fresh local catches.

Babbacombe offers a more low-key alternative to the bustling centre of Torquay and offers visitors a number of small shops, traditional tea-rooms and a cliff railway which will lead you up a large cliff face and reward you with stunning views of the surroundings.

Explore the beautiful coastal town of Dartmouth and wander through its beautiful narrow streets full of boutique and crafts shops, restaurants and pubs.

Totnes is a town full of rich heritage and culture with many of the buildings dating back to Norman, Medieval or Tudor times. Visit its Norman castle or visit one of the many museums and craft shops.
